Macro Controls and Re-Ranking

Rerank Selection
Section titled “Rerank Selection”Rerank and refresh the selected sounds for unlocked pads. AutoSamplr re-scores the saved candidate slices, applies the current macro settings, and selects a new set for the current layer without repeating stem separation.
- Lock pads before reranking if you want them to stay exactly as they are.
- The dice button is the random option: it asks AutoSamplr to choose a different offset in the ranked pool.
Global Macros
Section titled “Global Macros”The macro knobs steer what AutoSamplr chooses and how unlocked pads are shaped. Neutral knob positions leave the current behavior unchanged.
| Macro | What it does | Full rerun needed? |
|---|---|---|
| SNAP | Applies a shape effect to unlocked pad audio. Lower values make attacks tighter and punchier; higher values soften the attack and keep more natural tail. | No. |
| DENSITY | Changes how many picks can come from each group. Drums use kick/snare/hat/perc plus loud/soft groups; bass uses sub/mid/upper plus punch/sustain; vocals and melody use low/mid/upper plus punch/sustain. | No. |
| GRIT | Higher values favor sharper, more biting slices. Lower values favor smoother slices. | No. |
| FLAVOUR | Switches the scoring focus on bass, vocals, and melody: lower values favor more different-sounding slices; higher values favor slices with stronger attacks. | No. |
| SPREAD | Higher values skip safer top picks and choose more adventurous alternates. | No. |
| DURATION | Targets shorter or longer slices for the active layer. | Only when you need new slice boundaries. |
DURATION can update the selection from existing slices immediately. Click Run again after changing DURATION if you want AutoSamplr to create new slice boundaries around the updated duration target.
